An Extraterrestrial, commonly called an Alien or Space Alien, is a being from another world. Aliens have become a popular symbol of science fiction over the years. Since the term "Alien" can also mean an outsider of a country of state, it is necessary to call them Extraterrestrials to be more specific.
Aliens vary in appearance many different ways. Although most witnesses describe seeing Grey Aliens, they have also been described as being the color green. Sometimes Aliens are described as being the color of human flesh. Aliens are generally described and known for have a humanoid posture, big eyes, usually around five to six feet tall, small mouths, and big heads. However that is more of a cartoon description. Aliens are sometimes described as having long fingers with no fingernails. Sometimes they are described as having only two fingers. Some say that Aliens have very smooth skin that can burn through metal.
Aliens have been long thought to be nothing more than a figment of imagination and a hoax. However some people who claim that they have been abducted by Aliens think different. Some believe that Aliens are good and want to protect the planet Earth, while others believe that Aliens are evil and want to destroy Earth so that they can relay on an organic life source. As it is believed by some that Aliens used to live on the planet Mars and left the planet because it was drying out and the Aliens have no organic source of life to depend on. Aliens are said to communicate with Earth people by making shapes in crop fields called crop circles.
Aliens, especially the Greys, are thought to have influenced primitive mankind to build civilizations such as the pyramids. It is rumored that they once arrived on the planet Earth billions of years ago and as they taught primitive humans how to build, they were worshiped by the humans as gods, some believe. Having seen ancient cave paintings that depict individuals with unnaturally large heads and slender bodies made by primitive man supports the theory that Aliens have been on Earth before.
There have also been ancient paintings that depict small objects hovering in the sky in the background. These could possibly be some of the first known UFOs which are said to be the main use of transportation for Aliens. Some believe that the Aliens left behind thirteen Crystal Skulls on Earth before they departed.
Aliens are usually reported as driving aircraft known as UFO's or Unidentified Flying Objects. One report of a UFO crash is in Roswell New Mexico which ever since the event has celebrated Aliens in many ways. UFO's are described as usually being saucer shaped with a row or two of lights that go around it. Some UFO's are described as being triangle shaped with three lights on the bottom. It is unknown as to how Aliens seat themselves in these type of aircraft.
It is also unknown how Aliens pilot UFOs. Some say that they can use their minds to control their aircraft, however some believe that Aliens use an object to steer with like normal Earth vehicles. Aliens have also been known to use hovercrafts that they sit upon like chairs and travel in hovercrafts that appear as if they are a part of the Alien's lower body.
Aliens have also been known to use aquatic vehicles such as USOs. USOs look like ordinary UFOs, only USOs are capable of traveling underwater. Some say this is what Aliens used to create to lost city of Atlantis. USOs are usually look like normal UFOs, however USOs are said to have larger motor areas than UFOs. Except it is unknown where or if any Alien vehicles have motors.
- Main article: Alien Theories
There are very many theories about Aliens across the United States and the world. One theory is that the U.S. Government may be allying with the Aliens in order to keep their existence a secret. However with thousands of people wanting to go to places that prove the existence of Aliens such as Area 51, the government has done a poor job at trying to keep it a secret. Another theory that some Earth people have come to conclude is that "we are Aliens ourselves". Some believe that thousands of years ago, Aliens used to live on the planet Mars. However the Aliens noticed that the planet was starting to dry out, and decided to constructed a gigantic Mothership to live once the planet was dried out.
They say that the Aliens found Earth. The only (assumed) planet in the solar system capable of with staining living life. They say that the Aliens left some of their offspring behind on Earth, and that the offspring evolved into humans that live on Earth. Some say the Aliens want the U.S. Government to keep their existence a secret because the Aliens plan to reveal themselves to the people of Earth one day. However they are worried that the people of Earth are not ready for their advanced technology, but no one knows for sure.
Some believe that the Grey Aliens are nothing more than a figment of one's imagination, just like with any Alien. Others believe that the US Government has an agreement with the Aliens and that the Aliens have asked the Government to keep their existence a secret by hiding their spacecraft and dead (and or alive) bodies at secret locations such as Area 51. The greys may believe that the human race is not yet ready for their advanced technology and want to wait to reveal themselves when the human race is prepared for their advanced civilization.
Countries such as Russia have created hoax UFO sightings and Alien bodies in attempts to throw Americans into panic. Because of the Russians' long history of rivalry with the United States, it would make perfect sense for them to create hoax Alien related activity to compete with the US. However, there is no evidence that the grey Aliens have ever been responsible for any Russian bombings on other countries including the United States. Even though the countries such as Germany and Russia are notable suspects for these hoaxes, others believe that may actually be the US Government creating these hoaxes. Although, it is unknown why.
- Main article: Alien Encounter
There are many people who report seeing or having encounters with Aliens. There are four kinds of encounters with Aliens. A close encounter of the first kind is seeing lights from a UFO in the sky. A close encounter of the second kind is seeing a UFO up close. A close encounter of the third kind involves actually seeing Aliens in person. And a close encounter of the fourth kind involves being abducted by Aliens and being probed.

The US Government does somewhat believe in Aliens and Extraterrestrial life. Rover vehicles have been sent to planets such as Mars to investigate whether or not a planet such as Mars could inhabit, or once inhabited Aliens. Recently, water samples and maybe even running water has been found on Mars, which may support the possibility of the planet once inhabited Aliens. Aliens from Mars are called Martians. There are also satellites orbiting other planets in search of living life forms on other planets, despite the government occasional deny of the existence of Extraterrestrial beings.
Some say that even though they doubt the existence of Aliens like the kind that we see in modern forms of entertainment of cinema, there may have been forms of Extraterrestrial life before the planet Earth was even formed. Such as tiny microscopic bacteria and other organisms.
There are methods of contacting Extraterrestrials used by ufologists (ufology is the study of UFOs and the UFO religion) and other Alien enthusiasts who hope to someday make contact with Aliens. Radio telescopes are used to detect Alien radio frequencies or other forms of hearing Alien life in the universe.
Well known Aliens
- Main article: Grey Alien
Most eyewitnesses describe Aliens as being the color grey. Grey Aliens are more commonly known for being less fictional and are the most common type of Alien. Grey Aliens are known to be held at Area 51.
Grey Aliens are often described by eyewitnesses as slender with large heads and black eyes. They have small mouths as well as noses, or more or less nostrils like that of a lizard or a snake. Their bodies are tall and skinny as well as their fingers which are usually described as having larger tips on the fingers. Their muscles appear very weak, as being in space for so long can deprive greys of oxygen which causes them to lose muscles as well as change the color of their skin. If Grey Aliens once appeared just like humans as some theories say, their skin is most likely Grey because it is deprived of oxygen.
Most sightings of Grey Aliens to not usually describe the Greys as wearing any clothing. However, in the case of Travis Walton, the Grey Aliens that abducted him wore skinny, black, jumpsuit-like suits and as well were described the way that most eyewitnesses describe Grey Aliens.
Grey Aliens have become very popular over the years, especially since the rumored UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico. Their popularity has inspired other Grey Aliens in forms of merchandise, appearances in theatrical films, television programs, etc. Most of Grey Aliens' popularity relies within theatrical films based on actual claimed encounters with Greys, such as the 1993 film Fire in the Sky which was based on the famous abduction of Travis Walton and Night Skies which was based on the Arizona Lights. However, most of these films contain added fiction which never occurred during the events tied to Grey Aliens and are also low-budget which makes them unrealistic.
Among the most famous of these films is Close Encounters of the Third Kind which was the most successful of all these films.
- Main article: Reptoid
The body of a reptoid is often described as resembling that of a body of a male human with greenish scaly skin. They are thought to have large often yellow eyes with reptilian eye pupils. Their are thought not to have human noses, but more or less nostrils like that of a lizard or a snake.
Reptoids are not often ever reported as using advanced Alien technology such as UFOs or flying saucers. Reptoids are often reported as being seen as loners without any other of their kind present. It is still unknown if reptoids are even an Alien species or just the result of a mutation or science research in crossbreeding experimentation.
Reptoids are not that well known. Among the most famous report of a reptilian is in Bishopville, South Carolina with their famous "Lizard Man" whom the team of the Syfy channel television series Destination Truth investigated in one episode. In the History Channel series known as Monsterquest, there was an episode titled Monster Close Encounters in which one segment of the episode involved an extremely damaged an bent-up car that was said to have taken several bites on the hood from the Lizard Man.
There are some rather less well-known Aliens that have been, on occasion, described by eyewitnesses called Nordics. Nordic Aliens appear exactly like a human being with blond hair and often described as wearing light blue jumpsuit-like uniforms with silver trimming. Although most Nordic Aliens are reported as being male in gender, some have been reported as being female.
Nordic Aliens, however, are easy to be hoaxed since they are described as looking exactly like humans. Half the percent of Nordic Alien sightings could, if not all, be fake.
Aliens are a popular form in science fiction. They have been ever since famous writings such as the novel The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells which tells of a Martian invasion over Earth. The popularity of Aliens in fiction can come from the amount of imagination that one can put into creating an Alien creature or character in a story, whether a novel, theatrical film, or any other form of media. Since no one really knows what an actual Alien looks like, if they are even real, this gives the writer more of an imagination to create an original design. The War of the Worlds was later made into a film which had tremendous success. This followed several attempted remakes of the film of which none received higher ratings than the original. Several other classic films about Aliens were released in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.
One of the most famous recently known Aliens in theatrical films are the species known as the Xenomorph, created by the famous artist H. R. Giger. This eventually followed the species known as the Predator whom fought against the Xenomorph species in the film Alien vs. Predator.
Little green men
- Main article: Little Green Men
Little green men are a nickname given to Aliens in science fiction and sometimes in children's stories. The name "little green men" comes from the concept of Aliens being the color green. Green Aliens only appear in works of fiction and in cartoons or television programs such as Looney Tunes which featured a green martian named Marvin the Martian.
The name also came from being used as a reference to Aliens during the alleged UFO sightings in 1950. The Kelly-Hopkinsville sighting on August 21, 1955 claimed that two rural Kentucky men described an encounter with 3-4 foot tall metallic silver humanoid-looking Aliens. Many newspapers used the term "little green men" in the writing of the story.
Green Aliens are known more commonly to children's cartoons and comics. The greens are more fictional, though they are a common Alien description next to the Grey Aliens. Green Aliens also appear more commonly in movies, however it would seem that that only occurs most in children's movies. The concept of Aliens being green most likely comes from the theory that Aliens can produce slime.
Green Aliens have been known to be friendly in some cases such as Marvin the Martian and other children's cartoons. The conclusion that Aliens are green may come from the rumor that some Aliens are slimy, as this may cause their green appearance. Others say that it is their lack-of-Earth-oxygen that causes them to look green. Green Aliens are known commonly to have big black eyes and long fingers.
Another possibility of Aliens' skin being the color green could mean that the Alien's skin is actually scale-like, resembling that of an Earth reptile. These creatures are called reptoids.
Aliens are very popular in many forms of media, among the most popular forms of media being theatrical films such as the film The War of the Worlds which was based on H. G. Wells' original novel The War of the Worlds.
Aliens also often appear in children's cartoons, usually serving as the protagonists or antagonists against humans or other Aliens. Usually Aliens seem less harmful in cartoons and are often desiring to "take over the world". In some other cases in adult cartoons Aliens are still harmless, but they do not seem to be quit as friendly as they are in children's cartoons. Characters such as Roger Smith from American Dad are swearers, drinkers, and use sayings with adult humor.
